In 2013 the first plant to produce Antioxidant from cane syrup in the world was designed jointly by Dr. Chou and Robert J. Kwok at the Sagay Central Inc. sugar mill in Negros Occidental, Philippines. The plant has a capacity to produce 20 kg/day of dried powdered antioxidant. The antioxidant is marketed under the trade name MEGANOX. MEGANOX has the highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value of any plant material. It contains over 1.2 million ORAC units per 100 grams and is far superior to other antioxidants available in the market today. MEGANOX is a desugared sugarcane extract produced at a multi-million processing plant (the first one in the world) using a patented process by Dr. Chou Technologies Inc. of New York, USA. MEGANOX is rich in Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Potassium. It also contains iron and vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6. Along with high concentrations of Phytonutrients, Polyphenols, Protein and soluble fibres. MEGANOX is available as Raw Materials: syrup and powder form, Finished Products: 220 mgm. Capsules. It is FDA approved FR-123380 from the Philippines. Each capsule contains approximately 3,500 t0 4,000 ORAC units, the daily requirement established by the USDA.
Robert J. Kwok has purchased John H. Payne, Inc. after the untimely death of Mr. Hideo Idehara in 1997. He has been in the Consulting business in the sugar industry for 19 years. After acquiring the business in 1997 he had to finish the projects that were still in force when Mr. Idehara passed away. Projects were mainly from Indonesia and in Uganda. He has now been in consulting business for 16 years as owner and President of John H. Payne Inc. The consulting works range from design, engineering, process improvements, by-product development, cogeneration, factory audits, energy improvements for cogeneration, new product development, and project management.
